I just completed "One Litre of Tears" a Japanese drama ...

At first I watched it because I was told the girl in the drama was extremely cute (and she was). However, despite my initial motives for watching this drama I am glad I was introduced to such a great story, a true story.

Aya battled to stay alive for 10 years after being diagnosed with a neurodegenerative disease (SCD) that paralyzed her to every extent.  Can you imagine having full mental capacity yet not be able to express … anything for five years? She struggled to convey her thoughts and emotions through writing when she was capable, her message was simple … “Live On!”

My notion has always been to “live everyday with a smile”, though I might have lost sight of that lately, surprisingly this drama has showed me the basics of life again.
